The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has joined the people of Amachara Autonomous Community to celebrate their 2025 Thanksgiving Day, an event marked by gratitude, unity, and a renewed commitment to educational and community development.
The thanksgiving celebration also featured the official launch of the Amachara Educational Fund and a civic reception in honour of Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Enyinnaya Adiogu, MPhil, FSI. The event drew traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders, and well-wishers from within and outside Umuahia South, all united in celebrating progress and shared values.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Aguocha commended the leadership and people of Amachara for their foresight in establishing the Educational Fund, describing it as a strategic investment in the future of the community. He emphasized that education remains a critical driver of empowerment, innovation, and sustainable development.
“This initiative clearly shows that Amachara community understand the power of education as a tool for liberation and progress,” Aguocha said.
“When a community deliberately invests in the education of its children, it is securing its future and building leaders who will shape society positively.”
Aguocha also described the Thanksgiving Day as a profound moment of reflection and appreciation, noting that such gatherings strengthen communal bonds and reinforce shared responsibility. He praised the unity displayed by the community and encouraged continued collaboration in pursuing development-oriented initiatives.
“Thanksgiving is not only about celebration; it is about acknowledging God’s grace and renewing our commitment to one another,” he stated.
“The unity on display here today is the greatest strength of Amachara, and it is what will continue to drive meaningful progress.”
The federal lawmaker further highlighted the significance of the civic reception held in honour of AIG Enyinnaya Adiogu, describing it as a worthy recognition of excellence, dedication, and selfless service to the nation. He noted that honouring distinguished sons of the soil serves as inspiration to the younger generation.
“Celebrating achievers like AIG Enyinnaya Adiogu sends a clear message to our youths that integrity, discipline, and hard work are rewarded,” Aguocha said.
“It motivates them to aspire to greatness and to contribute positively to society.”
Hon. Obi Aguocha reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with communities across his federal constituency to support people-oriented initiatives, particularly those focused on education, youth empowerment, peace, and socio-economic growth.
