Abia Lawmaker, Emeka Obioma Lauds South East Governors' Move to Intervene in Kanu's Case

Abia State House of Assembly Chief Whip, Hon. Emeka Obioma, has expressed strong support for the South East governors' decision to visit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Speaking to newsmen in Umuahia, Hon. Obioma commended the governors for their proactive approach, describing it as a crucial step towards addressing the ongoing concerns in the South East. 
He emphasized that their intervention could help foster peace and stability in the South East, which has been marred by unrest and agitation related to Kanu's detention.

"The proposed visit by the South East governors to President Tinubu is a welcome development. It reflects their commitment to seeking a peaceful resolution to the issues surrounding Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's detention," Hon. Obioma stated. 
"This move is not only in the interest of justice but also vital for the stability and development of our region."

Obioma highlighted the significance of dialogue and engagement in resolving conflicts, urging all stakeholders to support the governors' initiative. 
He also called on the federal government to consider the plight of the South East and work towards a fair and just resolution of the matter.

The Lawmaker underscored the need for a balanced and fair resolution, advocating for the protection of human rights and the rule of law. He urged all stakeholders to support the governors in their efforts to foster dialogue and understanding between the South East and the federal government.
"The decision by our governors to seek an audience with President Tinubu is a commendable and necessary step.
