Hon. Obi Aguocha Announces Monthly Support Fund for His Constituents, Declares Unwavering Support for Gov Otti

The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has announced plans to introduce a monthly stipend scheme for his constituents. 

The initiative, he explained, is part of his broader vision to support families, students, and small-scale entrepreneurs in navigating the prevailing economic challenges.

Speaking during a sensitization forum with constituents, Hon. Aguocha stated, 

“I’m willing to disburse a monthly stipend to some of my constituents in Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South to help them take care of their essential needs. Whether it’s school fees, small business investments, or personal upkeep, the goal is to ease the financial pressure on our people. It will be a fair and transparent process, the same amount to everyone, directed at those who truly need it.”

He emphasized that the initiative would be implemented with integrity and fairness, ensuring that it benefits the most vulnerable without political bias or favoritism.

In his address, Hon. Aguocha also reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, stressing that their leadership vision is aligned and unified.

“Let it be clear, there is no difference between me and our Governor, Dr. Alex Otti,” he declared. 

“Gov. Otti is my brother. You can’t be for me and be against Dr Alex Otti. We are one and the same, working together for the progress of Abia State.”

He further announced ongoing plans to expand his constituency office to accommodate a broader coalition of stakeholders, including representatives of the Governor’s political structure, Called "Abia Arise" and Labour Party Frontliners.

“We are searching for a bigger office space that can serve not just our frontline team, but also the Governor’s structure and our Labour Party family,” he said. “This will create a unified front for effective service delivery.”

Reflecting on his election victory, Hon. Aguocha acknowledged the diverse political support that powered his success at the polls.

“During my election, I received support not just from Labour Party faithful, but also from some members of APC, PDP, and APGA. That unity is why we won, and they’re still with us today. We will not turn anyone away because of party affiliation. Our doors remain open to all who supported this mandate,” he emphasized.

He urged his supporters to extend the same goodwill and support to Governor Alex Otti, noting that their shared vision is to deliver meaningful development to the people of Abia.

“We are disciples not just of Obi Aguocha, but of Gov Alex Otti as well. Whatever the Governor is doing that benefits Abians, we will make sure it also reaches our people here. That’s why we must all work together,” he concluded.

His remarks were received with thunderous applause, as constituents praised his inclusive leadership, accessibility, and dedication to their wellbeing. 

Community members expressed optimism that the monthly stipend initiative would go a long way in alleviating economic hardship, and further solidify the trust between the people and their representative.

The gathering ended on a high note, with chants of solidarity and renewed support for both Hon. Obi Aguocha and Gov Alex Otti, as constituents pledged their continued loyalty to the Labour Party-led administration.
