“Your Silent Sacrifices Speak Louder Than Words” – Hon. Anderson Akaliro Celebrates Fathers, Says They're Pillars of Every Home

Umuahia, Abia State - June 16, 2025 –

Hon. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, Member representing Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, has paid glowing tribute to fathers, describing them as the “pillars of every home” whose silent sacrifices shape generations.

In a press release issued on Sunday, Hon. Akaliro highlighted the immense but often uncelebrated role fathers play in building stable families and nurturing society through love, discipline, and responsibility.

To every father out there; whether biological, adoptive, spiritual, or standing in as a father figure, I say thank you. Your silent sacrifices speak louder than words,” Akaliro said. “You go to bed last and wake up first. You carry burdens you don’t always share. Yet, you continue to lead, to guide, and to protect with strength and humility.”

Hon. Akaliro, who has been vocal about family values and youth development in his legislative work, emphasized that the health of any nation begins with the health of its homes, and that fathers play a foundational role in shaping the character and destiny of their children.

Fathers are more than providers, they are builders of legacy, examples of integrity, and protectors of the family unit,” he said.
A father’s presence or absence is deeply felt in the life of a child. That’s why we must continue to celebrate, support, and encourage responsible fatherhood.”

Reflecting on his own experiences engaging with families across the Ohuhu community, the lawmaker acknowledged the challenges many fathers face in today’s economy and society, but praised their courage and resilience.

I have met fathers who go the extra mile just to put food on the table, to pay school fees, to create a better life for their families. These are the men we are honoring today,” Akaliro noted.
You may not always hear applause, but your actions are recorded in the hearts of your children and in the strength of your homes.”

Hon. Akaliro also extended recognition to single fathers, guardians, and those who stand in as mentors and role models to children who may not have biological fathers in their lives. He said their efforts are equally important and worthy of commendation.

Fatherhood is not always defined by blood but by commitment, love, and leadership,” he added.
To those playing double roles, your effort is extraordinary and deserves special praise today.”

Calling for a renewed national focus on fatherhood, the lawmaker encouraged schools, religious institutions, and community organizations to invest in programs that mentor young boys and equip men for positive fatherhood.

We must raise a new generation of men who are emotionally present, morally upright, and spiritually grounded,” Akaliro said.
When we empower fathers, we empower families. And when we strengthen families, we secure our future.”

Hon. Akaliro ended his message with prayers for every father, asking God to grant them wisdom, provision, and long life.
Happy Father’s Day to all the men holding it down quietly and consistently. You are seen, you are valued, and you are appreciated. May God bless you richly,” he concluded.
