OAU Welcomes September with Prayers, Pledges More Commitment to Humanitarian Service

Abia, September 1, 2025 —

Philanthropist, politician, and founder of the OAU Foundation, Onyekwere Akym Uche, has sent goodwill prayers to Abians as the month of September begins, urging them to remain hopeful and united in the face of present challenges.

The former Abia governorship candidate reaffirmed his commitment to touching lives through humanitarian services, noting that his vision for a better society goes beyond politics.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, OAU described September as a month of renewal, progress, and opportunities. He prayed for peace, growth, and open doors for families, entrepreneurs, and the youth across Abia State.

"September is a month that reminds us that no matter what we may have faced in the past months, new beginnings are possible," he said.
"I pray that this season ushers in prosperity, good health, and breakthroughs for every Abian, both at home and in the diaspora."

He further called on the people to remain resilient and supportive of one another, stressing that the true strength of Abia lies in collective unity and compassion.

"Our greatest asset is not just our natural resources but the spirit of our people," he remarked. "When we stand together, we can overcome any obstacle. I urge every family, every community, to let love and resilience guide them this month and beyond."

The OAU Foundation, which he founded, has in recent years championed initiatives in education, youth empowerment, healthcare, and community development. Onyekwere Akym Uche assured that his foundation would continue to expand its reach in September and the months ahead.

"Through the OAU Foundation, we remain dedicated to creating opportunities for young people, supporting widows, and helping communities thrive," he added. "Service to humanity is the highest calling, and I will not relent in giving back to the society that made me."

Supporters and beneficiaries of the foundation’s programs have lauded Akym Uche’s message as inspiring, describing him as a leader whose actions speak louder than words. Many noted that his focus on philanthropy and empowerment continues to give hope to ordinary people across Abia State.
