The Emir of Argungu, who is also the Kebbi State year 2025 Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera, has pledged to ensure adequate welfare of Kebbi pilgrims while in the holy land.
The monarch made the pledge in Birnin Kebbi at Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency during the maiden inaugural meeting of the state government’s delegation for the 2025 hajj operations.
Mera, while urging his members to use the opportunity given to them to serve diligently with the fear of Allah, said the welfare of pilgrims and the success or otherwise of the 2025 hajj operations rest on their shoulders.
“Let me profoundly thank the Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris, for giving me the opportunity to lead this year’s hajj delegation. I will ensure that each pilgrim gets the attention that he or she deserves,” the Emir remarked.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro, reminded the meeting that the task ahead the hajj committee is to ensure the welfare of pilgrims.
“It is clear we are ready for the job because we have capable hands that can deliver on their tasks,” Aliyu said.
He assured the meeting that this year’s hajj operations would be the best in the state because adequate arrangements had been made to ensure its success, he disclosed, even as he further thanked Governor Idris for the opportunity to serve the state, even as he also reminded him of his pledge to support the amirul hajj and other members to succeed.
